Richard Key is an award-winning garden designer based in Buckinghamshire with over 30 years’ experience.

Richard designs outdoor spaces that blend seamlessly with their surroundings and provide a peaceful space for play, relaxation and outdoor living. He brings with him a wealth of horticultural experience resulting in designs and planting schemes that work in harmony with each other and their surroundings.

An elected Fellow of the Society of Garden Designers and Vice Chairman and Treasurer of the Society from 1996-1998, Richard is passionate about great design, and as a result founded Key Gardencare Ltd,  to provide year long garden maintenance ensuring that his designs continue to delight.

Award Winning

Richard’s designs have seen him win some high-profile awards including at The Chelsea Flower Show and The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show as well as a major award from the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI).

Lecturer

Richard has lectured for The Society of Garden Designers, The English Gardening School at The Chelsea Physic Garden and for the Garden Design School. He has also lectured on garden design at Middlesex University, The University of Central England and Barnsdale Gardens.

Author

When he is not winning awards or lecturing, Richard is also a published author and has written several books on garden design and construction, as well as contributing to other major publications and magazines.
